Maronti Beach

Ischia’s Longest and Sunniest Shore Ischia is home to many beaches, but the largest of them all is Maronti Beach, shared between the towns of Barano and Serrara Fontana.

Stretching for 3 kilometers and facing directly south, it’s kissed by the sun all day long. In fact, on clear days, you can even swim here in the middle of winter! You can reach the beach from both Barano and Sant’Angelo, but the most scenic route begins in the Barano hamlet of Testaccio.

This winding road offers stunning views of the dreamy blend of sea and mountains that gives the Maronti Beach its unique charm. The beach truly has something for everyone— whether you’re looking for peaceful coves or lively beach clubs. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy along the way.

At the western end of the beach, you’ll find the famous hot sand fumaroles. And Maronti is also home to two of the island’s best-known thermal springs: Olmitello and Cava Scura. Cava Scura is a small, rustic spa open only in the summer, featuring hot water pools, a natural sauna, sunbathing areas, and a massage zone—perfect for those seeking a relaxing wellness experience surrounded by nature.
